Welcome to Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs

The Office provides strategic advice to the Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs on issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the ACT. The Office coordinates a whole-of-government approach to issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents and provides secretariat and administrative support to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body and the United Ngunnawal Elders Council. The Office also administers the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traineeship Program.

ACT Public Service Indigenous Network (ACTPSIN)

The ACT Public Service Indigenous Network (ACTPSIN) was established in January 2008 and provides an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people employed in the ACT Public Service to contribute to improving program and service delivery by the ACT Government.

The Network currently provides:

  • a regular forum for the exchange of information between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees;
  • an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees to make recommendations regarding the design, implementation and delivery of services and programs that are funded by the ACT Government; and
  • The opportunity for staff to network and support each other.
