The ACT Disability Advisory Council provides strategic advice to the Minister for Disability and the wider ACT Government on issues affecting people with a disability in the ACT. The Council has representation from a broad cross section of the disability community. Each Council is appointed for a two year term.

The Council has broad terms of reference and is tasked with:

  • Advising the Minister on disability issues;
  • Working in partnership with Disability ACT on key activities;
  • Communicating the needs of people with disability and their families; and
  • Establishing links with the National Disability Advisory Council.

The Council welcomes input on issues affecting people with a disability, their families and their carers.
