Access Keys
Access keys enable a user to bring focus to page elements (usually links) using the keyboard. They are designed to assist users who prefer keyboard navigation, or are unable to use a mouse, and also provides easy access for frequent users.
- On Internet Explorer for Windows hold down the ALT key, press the character of the access key, release both keys then press Enter will take you to the destination page.
- On Firefox for Windows hold down the ALT key and press the character of the access key will take you to the destination page.
- On Firefox for Mac hold down the CTRL key and press the character of the access key will take you to the destination page.
- On Google Chrome for Windows hold down the ALT key and press the character of the access key will take you to the destination page.
- On Google Chrome for Mac hold down the ALT + CTRL keys and press the character of the access key will take you to the destination page.
- On Opera for Windows or Mac, hold down the shift key and press Escape, release both keys, then press the character of the access key.
- Some earlier versions of Web browsers do not support access keys. The online help in your Web browser provides further information.
How to use the Listen function enabled by ReadSpeaker
The Community Services Directorate website uses the following access keys on every page:
- S: Skip navigation
- L: ReadSpeaker (Listen function)
- 1: Home page
- 2: Contact Us
- 3: Search
- 4: Copyright
- 5: Privacy Statement
- 6: Disclaimer
