The Office of Multicultural Affairs promotes multiculturalism in the ACT by providing strategic advice to the Minister responsible for multicultural affairs on issues affecting people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
The Office of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Affairs provides strategic advice to the Chief Minister on issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living in the ACT. The Office coordinates a whole-of-government approach to issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents and provides secretariat and administrative support to the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elected Body, United Ngunnawal Elders Council and is working with the Centre management to develop a cultural program of activities for 2009.

ACT Multicultural Strategy 2010 - 2013
The ACT Multicultural Strategy 2010 – 2013 was tabled in the ACT Legislative Assembly in December 2009. There was wide community consensus that the Multicultural Strategy 2010 - 2013 should go forward focusing on six areas. These focus areas include: Languages; Children and young people; Older people and aged care; Women; Refugees, Asylum seekers and Humanitarian entrants; and Intercultural harmony and religious acceptance.
The ACT Multicultural Strategy 2010 – 2013 is currently being prepared for publishing and will be formally launched early in 2010.
