ACT Overseas Qualifications Unit (OQU)
The Overseas Qualifications Unit in the Office of Multicultural Affairs of the Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services was established in 2001. The Unit assesses the Australian educational comparability of overseas university qualifications. Assessments are based on national guidelines formulated by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR).
This is a free service for citizens and residents of the ACT and Queanbeyan. Some complex cases may need to be referred to NOOSR or other appropriate organisations for further assessment, registration/licensing or professional advice. Fees may be charged by these organisations. Qualification documents in languages other than English will need to be translated prior to assessments by the OQU.
