If you use Youth or Family Services: Heads Up! Things are gonna change
You might need a hand to find what you’re looking for!
So we are able to provide better services to children, young people and their families, the Community Services Directorate and Community Service Providers are making some improvements to Youth and Family Support Services in the ACT. You will start to see some changes over the next few months but there will also be some things that will stay the same.
What’s going on?
Over the last couple of years, the ACT Government; Youth and Family Support Services and young people have been discussing how to provide the best service to children, young people and their families.
As a result, from March 2012, Child, Youth, Family and Accommodation support services are going to change to provide improved supports for you and your family.
Some services will be closing but new services and activities are being made available.
If you are currently working with a service it is best to speak with your worker to find out how the changes may affect you.
You will still be able to access services you need.
You won’t have to tell your story over and over again.
There will be new services and activities available to you and your family.
What does it mean for the Youth or Family service I go to?
All the Youth and Family Services are working together to make sure you can access what you need. Some services may close, some may have new staff and some may have different activities and programs.
How will I know where to go?
To help you work out what is the best service to meet you and your families’ needs there is a number that you will be able to call to discuss your options. You will then be able to choose the service you want from these options.
