There are twenty-four findings in the report relating to ACT Government Concessions. These findings will influence future policy and program development for concessions, which assist eligible Canberrans to meet energy, water and sewerage charges, public transport, motor vehicle registration and other costs. In its response, the ACT Government agreed with seven of the findings and noted seventeen findings. The ACT Government is seeking to achieve a more coordinated concession system in the ACT, within work that is focussed on improving the accessibility and promotion of concessions to the community. These matters include funding, conditions of employment, recruitment and retention, occupational health and safety and industrial relations advice. The Act is silent in relation to body piercing. The ACT Government is seeking community comment regarding how the law should relate to the tattooing and body piercing of children and young people in the Australian Capital Territory. A Discussion Paper has been prepared outlining issues for consideration. The period for comment closes on 7 July 2008.
