Therapy ACT is an ACT Government therapy service for ACT residents that offers:
- Information and advice for families, carers and teachers on children's development
- Information and advice for adults and adolescents with a developmental disability and their carers
- Multi-disciplinary and single discipline assessments
- Therapy and intervention
- Counselling and support for families
- Autism Assessment and Family Support Team
- Consultancy service
- Seminars and workshops for parents, health professionals, teachers and community workers

Who are the services for?
ACT residents including:
- Children who
- are at risk of or have delays in their development (birth to eight years of age)
- have a development disability
- have a disability
- adults and adolescents with a developmental disability from childhood, including students attending special schools
- families and carers of these children, adults and adolescents

Therapy ACT believes in....
Our vision is that people with developmental disabilities and delays in development achieve what they want to achieve, live how they choose to live, and are valued as full and equal members of the ACT Community.
We do this by:
- working in partnership with families
- working in parthership with community agencies and schools
- taking an early intervention approach
- promoting the well being and development of clients and families
- providing a range of services to meet individual needs
- consulting with families and community members to help improve its service
- enabling families and clients to choose their own support networks

Where Therapy ACT staff provide services.
Therapy ACT service centres are located in Belconnen (Swanson Plaza) and Holder (Cnr Weingarth St & Blackwood Terrace). Staff may provide services at the following locations:-
- client homes
- disability housing units
- early intervention units
- respite care units
- child care centres
- preschools, primary schools, high schools and colleges
- community health centres
- workplaces
- day programs
Note: Not all services are provided in all of these settings.

How to contact Therapy ACT.
Senior Manager
Clinical Services Co-ordinator
Referral Intake Service. Anyone can refer a person to Therapy ACT but it must be with the knowledge and consent of the parents/guardians of the person. Individuals can also refer themselves.
For referrals or inquiries about Therapy ACT, call the Intake Service on 6205 1246.
This service is available from 9:00am - 3:30pm Monday to Friday.

If you have a suggestion, comment or complaint, we would like to hear from you.
Therapy ACT is committed to excellence in client service. Your feedback and comments are valued. All feedback received is included in the ongoing review and monitoring of service delivery.
If you have suggestions as to how the service can be improved or if a particular staff member or a team have provided you with exceptional service please let us know by linking to the printable Comments and Suggestions Form (RTF format) and Comments and Suggestions Form (Word format) or you can complete the Online Comments and Suggestions Form. Staff are always delighted to receive your suggestions and commendations which assist Therapy ACT to continue to provide a high level of service.
If you have a complaint about any Therapy ACT service, prompt and constructive action will be taken. Complaints are investigated and handled in a confidential and impartial way. You can speak to a staff member or use the following printable Complaints form (RTF format) and Complaints form (Word format) contained in this Website and give it to a staff member, Team Leader, Senior Manager or to the Clinical Co-ordinator of Therapy ACT or you can complete the Online Complaints Form and submit it directly to Therapy ACT.
You may also consider nominating the staff member for an ACT Customer Award. Nomination forms are available from the ACT Government web site.
