Funding Priorities

In 2007-08 grants to a maximum of $15,000 were available for activities and projects that:

  • Create a better understanding of ageing in the community (promotion of positive ageing);
  • Encourage older Canberrans to maintain and enhance their connections to the broader community; and
  • Encourage seniors to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.

Artsound Incorporated Silver Memories Radio Network - ACT Development Trial
Trial establishment of a non-profit digital narrowcasting "radio" service tailored to aged persons
Canberra Blind Society Sense able Leisure
Teaches blind or vision impaired seniors how to use remaining vision, to develop new skills and new approaches to lifelong learning
Communities@Work Tuggeranong 55 Plus Club To establish an active seniors club that will support seniors within the Tuggeranong region.
Goodwin Aged Care Services Forever Young A fitness program for people over the age of 60 living in Goodwin's retirement villages.
Migrant Resource Centre of Canberra and Queanbeyan Inc The Seniors Exchange Program Reducing seniors' isolation through interactions with the younger Canberra community.
The Australian National University Music Education Program Seniors' Training Program Recruits active seniors for training in the Music Education Program
The Retired ACT Transport Employees Club Inc. Out and About To further expand the regular and special social activities of the club for the benefit of it's members.
UC Music Society UC Chorale Scratch Day To invite seniors to a scratch day hosted by Tobias Cole
