All people, including older persons, have differing capacities and experience.  This question seeks to identify those personal attributes that impact on successful participation.

In your opinion, which personal characteristics are required to enable older Canberrans to participate in community life?

Question 2

Through this question, the research seeks to identify people who are succussfully engaged in the community and those who are less so.

Which personal characteristics do yo think result in people finding themselves socially isolated?

Question 3

Quite often individual older people face obstacles to participating in the community and avoiding isolation.  This question seeks to identify these obstacles and to consider how they could be ovecome.

In your experience, what are the main barriers to participation which result in the isolation of older Canberrans?

In your experience, what are the organisational policies, or the staff attitudes or actions, that assist community participation and minimise isolation?
