Public Transport Concessions - ACTION

The ACT Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services administers the ACT Concessions Program. The program aims to improve the affordability of essential services for low-income residents of the ACT.

Persons eligible for a concession fare

Applicable Travel Times

Conditions

Holders of ANU, University of Canberra, Canberra Institute of Technology, ACT College and High School Students Identity Card

Concession Fare at all times

ACT College and High School students only

University and CIT students must have full-time marked on student ID

Must have photo on the card

Students 15 years or over are required to show these cards for concession fare, otherwise full fare will be charged

ACTION Students Concession Card

Issued by ACTION Concession Officer

Concession fare at all times

Must include full-time status and must include photo on the card

Students 15 years or over are required to show these cards for concession fare, otherwise full fare will be charged

ACTION Gold Card

Free travel at all times

Issues to ACT residents 75 years of age or older.

Cardholders must show these cards to travel free, otherwise full fare will be charged

International Student Identity Card

Includes University, TAFE, College and High School Students attending Australian educational institutions

Concession fare at all times

Must have photo on the card

Students 15 years or over are required to show these cards for concession fare, otherwise full fare will be charged

CENTRELINK Pensioner Concession Card

Concession fare at all times

The Centrelink issued Concession Card must be carried at all times and produced on request, otherwise full fare will be charged

ACTION Concession Card

Concession fare at all times

Issued by Centrelink to eligible benefit recipients eg New Start; Partner Allowance; Youth Allowance (job seekers only); Sickness Allowance; Additional Parenting Allowance (Partnered); Special Benefit, Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) clients eligible on interim basis (whilst waiting receipt of PCC Card), Health Care Card holders - who are classified as low income earners. Concession Card must be carried at all times & produced on request, otherwise full fare will be charged.

ACT Seniors' Card

Concession fare at all times for Deane's Bus Lines

Issued by Canberra Connect Shop fronts

ACT residents only

Seniors Card must be carried at all times and produced on request, otherwise full fare will be charged.

DVA Gold Card

Concession fare at all times

Issued by Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)

Vision Impaired Travel Pass

Entitles holder to free travel on all ACTION services
