An invitation from the Minister
Dear Prospective Seniors Card Business Member
I am inviting you to join with the ACT Government in acknowledging and celebrating the contribution older Canberrans have made to our community through the Seniors Card Scheme.
Australia has a rapidly ageing population. This has been influenced by medical and technological advancements, lifestyle changes, financial considerations as well as public education with respect to health.
The Seniors Card Scheme provides local businesses with a cost effective and powerful method of direct marketing and promotion to the 41,000 Seniors Card holders of which equates to 96% of all eligible Seniors in Canberra. This growing mature-aged market is generally financially buoyant and represents an increasing source of both spending power and consumption.
Participation in the Seniors Card Scheme assists in the placement of your products and services to this large and growingdemographic. I encourage you to ensure that the Seniors Card Scheme should be a part of the marketing mix of your business, as it has the ability to generate results in both the short and long term. The Seniors Card may significantly heighten public awareness of your organisation's involvement in the industry.
I encourage you to consider becoming a Seniors Card Business Member.
Yours Sincerely,
Katy Gallagher MLA
Minister for Disability and Community Services
