A Canberra care and protection case-worker and crisis counsellor has been awarded the annual Audrey Fagan Post-Graduate Scholarship.
The ACT Minister for Women Joy Burch said Erica Boulter supports vulnerable, at risk families and children, working to make a positive difference to their lives.
Ms Burch said the scholarship program assists its women recipients to undertake post-graduate study and professional development in the areas of law enforcement, care and protection and victim support.
The $20,000 scholarship will enable Ms Boulter to complete her Master of Clinical Psychology and achieve her goal of becoming a child psychologist, specialising in the treatment of childhood trauma.
"Ms Boulter is an emerging leader with a strong commitment to supporting children and families at risk to overcome their challenges," Ms Burch said.
"She is acutely aware of the increasing need for psychological services to assist individuals to overcome the affects of trauma and abuse, and has actively sought therapists who are willing to provide services for clients with limited financial resources."
The scholarship program was established in 2007-08 to honour former ACT Chief Police Officer Audrey Fagan and her contribution to the promotion of women in public life.
