Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission - the main Commonwealth body that is charged with protecting the rights of disabled people and advocating on their behalf is the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission (HREOC).

Office of the Public Advocate (ACT) - promotes and individually represents the rights and interests of people with who are not able to represent or protect themselves including Children and young people, adults with a mental illness or impaired decision making ability who require protection from abuse, exploitation or neglect.

Disability Coordination Office ACT and South East NSW - The Disability Coordination Office ACT and South East NSW provides information via a search engine on a variety of topics for people with disabilities and their families, including programs aim to meet various individual needs and provide recreation and social support.
Northcott Disability Services - provides support and services to individuals and families across NSW and the ACT. Services are provided across a broad range of disabilities including physical, intellectual, sensory, acquired and degenerative disabilities as well as challenging behaviours.
